From 04:00 on 11 February 2022, fully vaccinated passengers returning to England and Scotland from abroad will no longer need to arrange and take any Covid travel tests if they are fully vaccinated.
The need to complete a passenger locator form remains, although the form can now be completed three days ahead of a return rather than two. It is expected that the form will also be simplified, but not time scale is given for that change.
At the time of writing Wales and Northern Ireland have not yet said whether they will change their testing rules, although they are expected to follow suit.
The timing of the announcement coincides with the half-term holiday in the UK. This will mean UK families with relatives and/or friends in Spain will have the confidence fly out and to get together if they wish. In doing so it also provides a much needed boost to the aviation and holiday sectors.
